Resveratrol Supplements – Find Out How to Choose the Best Ones

Resveratrol Supplements – Find Out How to Choose the Best Ones

Let’s face it: There is a huge range of health benefits that you get when you include resveratrol in your daily dietary intake.

The question is: Which is the best method that you should follow, in order to make sure that you get the right amount of the compound to fulfill your daily nutritional needs?

You are basically faced with three options:

1) Rely on your daily food and/or drink,

2) Take resveratrol supplements that contain just the compound

3) Take multi-nutrient supplements which have resveratrol as one of their ingredients.

To begin with, using supplementation (options 2 and 3 above) is far superior to trying to get resveratrol into your body through your dietary intake alone. The compound is found in many different plants throughout nature. Most prominently, it is known to occur in grapes and red wine.

While this is great, there is a major problem to this. The quantities that are found in red wine are extremely small. You would have to literally drink handfuls of bottles each and every day in order to get the amount of the compound that it would make a difference.

Clearly, this is not a healthy or feasible solution. Therefore, resveratrol supplements have the advantage because they can provide you a powerful dose all at once.

Additionally, the compound can be extremely difficult for your body to work with. It’s basically a very fragile compound that can be easily destroyed by your body’s harsh internal environments, such as your acidy stomach.

Therefore, your body might not absorb even the limited amount of the compound that you receive in wine.

However, high quality resveratrol supplements can utilize special protective covers known as enteric coatings, which can guide the material toward safe passage and absorption.

Now, comparing options 2 and 3, you need to understand that not all the benefits that you get from resveratrol supplements are created equal.

Some of them offer just the compound by itself, without any other nutrients (option 2). While this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it does fall short in comparison to other supplements, which combine many different ingredients to provide an advanced and superior result (option 3).

When the right ingredients are combined in the right proportions, all of the different compounds can interact with each other in a synergistic fashion. Basically, they help each other out, one effect building on the other, and the end result is you see even better results than all of the ingredients provide separately.

What’s important to know is that combining many different nutrients will allow you to target all five areas of aging.

Most people are only familiar with aging caused by free radicals. However, aging has four other causes, including glycation, DNA degeneration, inflammation and methylation.

Many different ingredients combined will allow you to target all of these areas, as opposed to only free radicals.

Therefore, instead of taking a supplement with just resveratrol, you should take one that includes additional amino acids, herbal extracts, vitamins and minerals and more.

As you can see, there are many benefits to resveratrol supplements as opposed to getting the compound from food or drink sources such as red wine. Additionally, when it comes to the supplements themselves you have to make a smart decision and find one that combines multiple ingredients, in addition to a protective enteric coating, for maximum results.
